William W. Abbott

William W. Abbott is a founding partner of Abbott & Kindermann, LLP, a Sacramento-based law firm focusing on land use issues.  Mr. Abbott’s clients include public agencies, private developers and property owners concerned with real estate development throughout California.  A long time instructor in land use law, Mr. Abbott also serves as an expert witness on California land use proceedings in state and federal court.  

Mr. Abbott has also participated in numerous training programs for local planning departments, County Supervisors Association of California, League of California Cities, and the County Planning Directors' Association.

Diane G. Kindermann Henderson

Diane G. Kindermann Henderson is a founding partner of Abbott & Kindermann, LLP. Ms. Kindermann represents private development, mining, agricultural and other land owner interests as well as public agency clients in matters concerning real estate, land use planning and zoning laws, Federal and State Endangered Species Acts, wetlands, water and mineral rights, water quality, CEQA, NEPA and hazardous waste matters, including CERCLA.  

Ms. Kindermann is an Executive Committee Chairperson on the Sacramento Regional Transit Authority, Friends of Light Rail Board. She is also on the Council of Counsel and Environment Committee for the Construction Materials Association of California. Ms. Kindermann is a member of the American Planning Association and has also served on the Legal Affairs Committee, and the Wetlands/ Endangered Species Task Force for the Association of California Water Agencies.

Katherine J. Hart

Kate Hart is Senior Counsel at Abbott & Kindermann, LLP. Her primary area of practice is land use law.  Ms. Hart represents both public and private clients in processing their local land use entitlements. She has extensive experience with the Subdivision Map Act, Mitigation Fee Act and the California Environmental Quality Act, as well as local land use litigation.  

Kate also has experience with water quality and environmental issues.  She is a former member and Chair of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (2005-2012), and is a member and the President of the Sacramento Valley Conservancy Board of Trustees.

Glen Hansen

Glen Hansen is Senior Counsel at Abbott & Kindermann, LLP.  Mr. Hansen litigates disputes involving land use, real estate law and commercial transactions.  Mr. Hansen also advises clients on matters involving business law and commercial transactions.  

Mr. Hansen has served as a Chairman on the Governmental Affairs Committee in the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and has served as a Dispute Resolution Conference pro-tem judge for the El Dorado County Superior Court.

Brian Russell

Brian Russell is an associate of Abbott & Kindermann, LLP. Brian provides legal advice for the wine business and his primary practice areas including land use, real estate, and business transactional law. His extensive experience includes the acquisition of land use entitlements for property owners. He also advises clients on property due diligence, land zoning matters, negotiating and drafting land purchase agreements, and easements. On business matters, Mr. Russell advises clients on complex transactions and acquisitions.

Mr. Russell is located at Abbott and Kindermann’s St. Helena office. He is active in forming local land use policies. Mr. Russell is Vice Chairperson of the City of St. Helena Planning Commission.
